Choose the Right Toothpaste for Your Teeth

Always make sure that the toothpaste you choose contains fluoride as it helps keep the teeth strong. Brushing with fluoride toothpaste can help you prevent the onset of cavities and tooth decay. Fluoride can also help repair tooth enamel. 

Make Sure to Also Clean Your Tongue 

Sometimes, plaque can develop on the tongue. That is why, at Broadmoor Dental, we recommend our patients also make sure to include tongue cleaning with a good-quality scraper or toothbrush in their daily routines. 

Make Flossing a Daily Habit

Flossing is a part of a proper oral care routine as it helps clean the teeth where the toothbrush cannot reach. Food particles stuck in between the teeth are easily removed by flossing. This habit also helps to remove plaque from the gums. 

Avoid Brushing Your Teeth After Drinking Acidic and Sugary Drinks

Acid softens the tooth enamel. Therefore, when a person brushes their teeth immediately after consuming acidic and sugary drinks, this can cause enamel erosion. We recommend that you wait for an hour or so after drinking acidic or sugary drinks before you brush so that the saliva can help neutralize the acid.

Drink Plenty of Water

Water helps flush away food particles after each meal and also helps prevent mouth dryness. In addition, drinking water helps keep the soft tissues moist and also helps the production of saliva that, in turn, helps fight the bacteria in the mouth. 

Always Include Vegetables and Fruit in Your Diet
